I love the holidays. I love it because of my family and friends, I love it because of the food, but most of all, I love it because it's a reminder- to take stock, to slow down, to love.
My husband and I have been keeping a gratitude practice as part of our nightly ritual for several months now. Every night before bed, we say three things that we're grateful for and document it in a tiny journal that I bought just for this purpose.
It's a wonderful way to end your day, connect and ease into a resting state. Instead of filling my mind with what I need to do tomorrow, I make a decision to reflect on what I'm grateful for right now. This is a powerful choice that we can all make... no matter how down and out we might feel. It can be as simple as being grateful for deep breaths, first snow of the season or even cake- our gratefuls often include cake.
So my dearest wild ones....what are you grateful for?
