Lately I've noticed that I've been working really hard to be "special". Like most people, I want to stand out, be recognized, be different. In order to accomplish this, I often twist and contort, push and pull, expand and contract. I ask myself silly questions like, "who am I (of course I mean compared to others)?" and, "What makes me, me?"
Then, in the middle of meditation yesterday, it hit me. What the fuck am I talking about?
There's literally only one of me in this entire Universe. Just one. I don't need to try to be special, try to stand out, try to be different- it is my BIRTHRIGHT. By the nature of the fact that we are "one and only" makes us unique. You can't get 'specialer' than that.
So let's wake up babies. Quit banging our heads against the wall. Throw the, "It's all been done before" out the window. And, while you're at it, flush, "there are no more unique ideas" down the toilet.
Everything you do, the way you breathe, eat, shit, create, scream, fight and fall- is groundbreaking. In fact, you are the first person in the Universe to have done it that way.
Now isn't that...special.
