Ok, for those of you who follow my blog, you know about my adventures with DIY Ombre by L'Oreal Feria. What you might not know, is that I did such a kick ass job on my own hair, my sister demanded that I do it on hers asap!
That same weekend, with glee and pride, I began the process of skillfully painting her hair. At this point, I was so proud of my work that I declared myself an expert, genius if you will, at the art of DIY ombre!
As my sister plopped herself on the couch counting the minutes to when she could wash the stuff out, I (in a sheer moment of weakness) decided to rub the remaining product into my head– no mirror needed... I was that good. (It had been a few days since I ombre'd myself and was already bored with the subtleness. I wanted to kick it up a notch or three.)
(We all know how this ends, right?)
After showering (rinse and repeat) and blow drying my hair, I could immediately see that there was a perfect palm shaped bleached spot on the upper left side of my head. My dream ombre had quickly become a nightmare.
Needless to say, within the next few days, I scoured the internet looking for the best place in NYC to get your ruined DIY ombre fixed...pronto. That's when I came upon the lovely ladies at Fox and Jane. Three hours and a couple hundred bucks later, I came out with an ombre worth paying for and a slightly bruised ego (insert sad emojicon).
