Marie Veronique Organics

If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I'm now a self proclaimed "recovering dirty skincare addict".  I'm still obsessed with all things beauty, but am now extremely focused on organic, non-toxic brands.  Let me tell you, this obsession has opened pandora's box and I'm voraciously devouring (ok not devouring, but these products are good enough and clean enough to eat) all things holistic and healing for the skin and body.

From the beginning of OurWonderLust, I've been on the hunt for the perfect tinted moisturizer.  BB creams and CC creams have come and gone from my life leaving a lot to be desired.  Once I cleaned up my skincare act, I thought that I'd never be able to find a tinted moisturizer with SPF protection that would fit my Wonder Woman standards.  Who would have thought that not only would I find several brands that suited my skin tone, but they'd also be effective, smooth and feel great on the skin.

Marie Veronique Organics is my first introduction to the world of natural tinted moisturizers and to this day it's still the one I reach for the most.  As you can see from the swatches above, MVO offers a 'light' and 'medium' tint.  Two colors might not seem enough but the shades are very neutral (not too yellow or beige) so they blend beautifully into my skin leaving it looking more even and SUPERnatural (freckles shining through).

I use a combination of both the light and medium tint (right now, heavier on the medium, but in the winter I'll try heavier on the light).  The MVO Tinted Sunscreen feels weightless on my skin- not like I have a mask of sunscreen on.  There's little to no oxidizing so what you see is what you get after application.

Here's how I do it:

Step 1: On a clean face I put a couple drops of the MVO Face Oil.  It helps prime the skin for what's to come.  (amazing scent, medium oily texture)

Ingredient: Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, vitus viniferi (grapeseed) oil*, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil*, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, argania spinosa (argan) oil*, rubus fruticosus (blackberry) seed oil*, borago officinalis (borage) oil*, emu oil, oenotherus biennis (evening primrose) oil*, sclerocarya birrea (marula) oil*, rosa rubignosa (rosehip) seed oil*, tocopherol (vitamin e), rubus idaeus (black raspberry) seed oil, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) seed oil*, actinidia deliciosa (kiwi) seed oil*, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) oil*, calophyllum inophyllum (tamanu) oil*, lecithin*, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oleoresin*, lycopene, euphasia superba (krill) oil, daucus carota (carrot) seed essential oil, lavendula angustfolia (lavender) essential oil*, rosa centifolia (rose) essential oil, rosa damascena (rose) essential oil, pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium) essential oil, helichrysum italicum (helichrysum) essential oil, citrus aurantium bigaradia (neroli) essential oil, cananga odorata (ylang ylang) essential oil*

Step 2: MVO Tinted Sunscreen all over face (I use my hands)

Ingreidents: Non-nano zinc oxide, Camellia sinensis (green & white tea)*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel) oil*, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil*, emu oil, vegetable glycerin*, elaesis guineensis (red palm) oil*, polyaminopropyl biguanide**, tocopherol (vitamin e), rubus idaeus (red raspberry) seed oil*, lecithin*, potassium sorbate, allantoin, xanthan gum, mica, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) oil*, calodendrum capense (yangu) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oleoresin*, pearl powder, daucus carota (carrot) seed essential oil, cistus incanus (cistus) essential oil, helichrysum italicum (helichrysum) essential oil, iron oxides

Step 3: RMS uncover up under eyes (if needed) and Josie Maran Cheek Gelée on cheeks (using fingers)

Step 4: I always spray a very light mist of Thermal Water on my face after applying.  It helps the products seal and settle into the skin making it look and feel really natural.

Don't forget, like all sunscreens, you should be putting this product on multiple times a day.  I have oily/combo skin and the MVO Tinted Sunscreen leaves my face looking balanced and slightly glowing, and since it's toxin free, I don't mind putting it on again and again!

This stuff is Wonder Woman worthy!
