Stella and Dot Gives A HOOT
The social worker in me loves to discover products that care. With the enormous popularity of TOMS (One For One Campaign), companies like Warby Parker (Buy A Pair/ Give A Pair) and Pikolinos were sure to follow suit. Now, social entrepreneurs are popping up by the dozens bringing unique, quality and coveted products to consumers that Give A Hoot (and even to those that don't). Additionally, longstanding companies and designers such as Chan Luu and Stella and Dot, have strengthened their "caring arm" by offering products specifically designed for their causes. Be it Breast Cancer awareness or empowering children and girls through economic and educational development, these companies are "being the change" they want to see in this world.
Embarrassingly enough, I had not heard about Stella and Dot until by my sister in-law, Alison told me that she was hosting a trunk show for them. I say embarrassingly, because apparently Stella and Dot is huge! They are all over fashion magazines such as In Style and Teen Vogue, showcased by big bloggers like Saucy Glossie and Wendy's Lookbook and you can see their statement necklaces and chandelier earrings adorning big celebs like Minka Kelly and Julianne Hough.
The one I'm wearing above was given to me by my mother in-law, Elaine. It's from the Stella and Dot Foundation line of bracelets and 100% of the proceeds go to Stella and Dot partner charities (Accion, buildOn and Girls Inc.)!
