Once you're pregnant the world (almost immediately) seems to hand you an infinitely long list of things you need to stay away from. Thank god I've already been doing a pretty great job in my skincare/beauty world at weeding out the nasties and keeping my routine as simple and clean as possible (food on the other hand is a different story).
However, now that I've had my baby, I've been even more cognizant over what I put on and into my body- something about being able to physically see my babe and in real time witness how my diet and decisions effect her- makes it all the more real and me all the more careful.
For those of you who are breastfeeding or have ever breast fed, you know how "weird" your boobs can get. Bumpy, itchy, dry, leaky, and so much more. There are plenty of nipple balms and creams out there but I've been nervous about using anything with too many ingredients- even if they are all natural. If you use anything with more than one ingredient than it can be difficult to know what causes a reaction if your baby suddenly breaks out into hives.
That's why I've been sticking to coconut oil. "Purely". I love this one by LivPurely. Not only do I use it on my boobs to soothe and moisturize, I also use it on babe for her nightly infant massage- she loves it!
I've already gone through three bottles so I know I love it....and it's definitely on my "must have" for new moms list. The only con about the LivPurely is their packaging. The coconut oil comes in a squeeze bottle which can be annoying when the oil is firmed up. But they do give you a handy spatula so you can spoon out the product.
I am dying to try Cocovit next...anyone else have a pure coconut oil brand that they love?
